The passing of Danny Choate, a beloved member of the North Augusta community, has left a void in the hearts of many. Choate, 76, was a longtime resident of the city and was known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his community.

Born on June 15, 1948, Choate served in the United States Navy before settling in North Augusta. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was actively involved in various organizations and charities throughout the city. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the American Legion, and the North Augusta Lions Club, among others.

Choate was also a successful businessman, owning and operating several local businesses, including Choate’s Auto Body Shop and Choate’s Towing Service. He was well-respected in the community for his hard work and dedication to his craft.

But beyond his professional and civic accomplishments, Choate will be remembered most for his kind heart and selfless nature. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and was known for his generosity and compassion towards others.

His passing has deeply impacted the North Augusta community, with many sharing fond memories and stories of how Choate touched their lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Choate’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1st at Posey Funeral Directors in North Augusta. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the North Augusta Lions Club or the American Legion in Choate’s memory.
