Losing a loved one is never easy, and it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Belinda “Binnie” Jones on May 23, 2024. Binnie was a beloved member of our community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Binnie was born on November 5, 1961 in Augusta, Georgia to the late James and Mary Jones. She grew up in the Augusta area and attended Augusta High School before going on to earn her degree in nursing from the University of Georgia. Binnie was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years, and her compassion and care touched the lives of countless patients.
In addition to her career, Binnie was an active member of her church and community. She volunteered her time with various organizations and was known for her generous heart and willingness to lend a helping hand. Binnie was also an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors, especially in her beloved rose garden.
Binnie is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John Jones, and their two children, Sarah and Michael. She also leaves behind her sister, Susan, and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
A celebration of Binnie’s life will be held on May 28, 2024 at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Binnie’s honor.
Binnie will be greatly missed, but her legacy of kindness, compassion, and love will live on through those she touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Binnie. Read More!
