On Tuesday, July 6th, a tragic accident occurred on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta, Georgia. A 36-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle and sadly, did not survive the impact.
According to WRDW-TV, the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. The victim was riding their bike when they were hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene until authorities arrived.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has not been charged at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
This is a tragic reminder of the importance of sharing the road and being cautious while driving, especially around vulnerable road users such as bicyclists. It’s also a reminder for bicyclists to always wear proper safety gear and follow traffic laws.
